About Note Ticker
Note Ticker is an AI-assisted tool that automates the mechanical "note ticking" work auditors carry out at the finalisation stage of a financial statement audit.
The problem we solve
On every engagement, the audit team has to check that the figures in the draft financial statements agree to the audited trial balance, that prior-year comparatives agree to the prior-year audited financials, and that successive draft versions stay internally consistent. Depending on the complexity of the financials, this manual cross-referencing can take 10 to 40 hours per engagement — and it is easy to get wrong by hand.
What Note Ticker does
Note Ticker works through the financials note by note and hands back a review-ready Excel workpaper. It covers five modules:
- Prior Year Ticking — agrees current-year draft comparatives to the prior-year audited financial statements.
- Current Year Ticking — agrees current-year draft figures back to the audited trial balance.
- Version Comparison — a cell-by-cell comparison between two draft versions of the financials.
- Conclusion Analytics — fluctuation and movement analysis across the statement of financial position and the statement of comprehensive income.
- Disclosure Checklist — runs an IFRS disclosure checklist against the financial statements.
Why teams use it
- Turns hours of manual ticking into minutes.
- Reduces the human error that creeps into repetitive cross-referencing.
- Produces a structured Excel workpaper that drops straight into the audit file.
- Frees the team to spend its time on judgement rather than clerical checking.
